The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (C.I.L.T.) is the professional body for those engaged in logistics and all modes of transport. We are a professional Institute offering professional training, professional development and professional policies.
The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Ireland was established in 1919 and received a Royal Charter in 1926.
The principal objective of the Institute is “To promote the art and science of logistics and transport in Ireland”.
The Institute achieves this objective through both its membership and its educational qualifications, which are both invaluable to an individual’s career.
The Institute is a membership based organisation with over 30,000 members in over 30 countries.
Presentations by topical industry professionals, site visits, seminars and conferences are all regular activities that build a dynamic CILT program.
There are three regional branches, each branch meeting regularly to discuss matters of local and national interest, as well as organizing the dynamic regional membership programmes and activities.
The established branches around Ireland are: Southern Section, Eastern Section, and Western Section.
The Chartered Institute is a non-profit organisation and is funded via both members' subscriptions and its educational programmes.

Course Content
This is a two-year programme delivered through tutorials. The course reflects the need for co-operation between the academic and practitioners in the field of logistics. It combines academic theory with practice so that it develops the participant’s logistics competencies, which can in turn be transferred to the workplace. On successful completion of the first year, students are awarded an Advanced Certificate in Logistics and the Diploma at the end of year two.
YEAR 1: THE CILTI ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT
YEAR 2: THE CILTI DIPLOMA IN LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT
THE ASSESSMENT AND EXAMINATION PROCESS
Each course will comprise 80 taught hours, divided between the 4 modules each year.
While the student’s overall mark will be calculated by adding his mark in all three elements: a pass mark of 50% in each of the three elements is also required.
Assessments should be 1,500 words each. The written project requires 8,000/10,000 words.
Courses commence in Training Centres in Dublin, Cork, Clonmel & Limerick in October.
